Abstract
This study started with skepticism about historical views of progressivism that includes belief of rationalism; origin should be traditional, that is, tradition exists when something is transmitted without pause in the history. And the study compared existing discussions related to tradition of Korean martial arts with meaning of ‘origin’told by Michel Foucault for overview. And the study intended to suggest another perspective about understanding the concept called ‘origin’, not figure out origin of Korean martial arts. As a result, Michel Foucault considered such problems as this, through deconstruction of the concept of ‘origin’, discourses like ‘tradition’that do not continue with an origin, are composed of a discontinued system, but are born every moment with a new origin through externality, that is, historical situation. Various discussions about the tradition of Korean martial arts were examined based on the viewpoint of Michel Foucault, it could be known that the concept of ‘origin’ is dealt with as a problem of ‘individuality’ which is not continued, and to build a new concept including variability and actuality is tried. Accordingly, it should be understood that the meaning of ‘origin and tradition’ of Korean martial arts is transmitted in segment by judgement of subjective value, being free from recognition of Korean martial arts through historical view of progressivism; and such ‘origin and tradition’ is created and transmitted with new origin according to the meaning and value of the‘present’.

Abstract
Immensely commercialized due to the development of high technology and capitalism, today’s sport has become a field of merciless race which seeks for nothing but victory and record, its supreme value, through competition. In consequence, sport has produced numerous problems, such as manipulating game results, drug-taking, bribing referees, corruption involving college admission, factions, hooliganism, and environmental pollution due to the reckless construction of sport facilities. In order to contemplate today’s sport preoccupied with victory and record and to reflect on general problems of sport generated by its subjection to science and the capital, it is imperative to develop the field of sport humanities. This study aims to suggest directions and specific ideas for the establishment of sport humanities in Korea. First of all, I examine the current status of sport humanities in Korea. Based on the examination, I provide specific methods as follows: first, it is necessary to create a database of “sport text,” including sport literature, sport film, and sport journalism. Second, sport text should be categorized according to theme and function. Third, sport humanities can be more thoroughly explored in an interdisciplinary manner; this is because they require not only the general knowledge on sport studies but also consilience in thinking on humanities and skills of analyzing the text.

Abstract
This study is to pay an intensive attention to the discourse on irrationality in sport fields to estimate the cause and type of its occurrence for reconstruction of an advanced discourse and its plan. To sum up any ideological approaches to the causes of irrationality, the ‘Growth First’ principle internalized by ‘compressive modern growth’ has been formed as a dominant ideology. In addition, ‘dominance of economic and political logic’ and ‘rationalization of irrational selection by sport agencies’ were faced up as not being able to be excluded. The types of irrationality in sport agencies can be categorized as the followings: privatization of sport agencies and inappropriate management, victory fabrication and biased officiating, undesirable financial management, problem of factionalism and violence. For the advancement of sport organizations, first, the president’s will and determination are indispensible for fulfilling the legitimacy in their advancement. Second, the programs for ethic education of internal members who are the subjects of management should be introduced. Third, the monitoring, solidating and checking of civil sport organizations is critical. Fourth, the transparency of budget execution and accounting should be ensured. Fifth, a democratic decision-making structure should be established for enhancing the fairness in selecting chiefs and executives of sport organizations. Sixth, the regulations and systems of sport-related agencies and services must be improved incessantly. Seventh, the responsiveness of sport policies should be beefed up and the network for sport policies is to be efficiently executed. Finally, the system for growing and managing professional manpower including judges, umpires and referees should be established who are practical operators.

Abstract
This study focuses on aesthetic enjoyment of dance sport as performing art, and follows the standpoint of general recognition of Kant as a method of natural science. That is, the focus is on how the subjectivity is secured through aesthetic enjoyment of dance sport as performing art based on Kant’s critique of aesthetic judgment in Critique of Judgment. Also, its aesthetic significance and structure are examined. In conclusion, aesthetic enjoyment of dance sport as performing art manifests its value ultimately based on feelings about the work, and judgment that forms in a relationship between internal experience makes judgment with the subject’s aesthetic feeling from the work’s aesthetic elements. To be precise, Kant’s sense of judgment is an act of aesthetic judgment evaluating value, and such analysis begins from artistic experience, enjoys the beauty, and re-illuminates modern significance of dance sport as performing art.

Abstract
Today’s discourse on sports culture is richer than ever. However, the meaning requires further elucidation as existing knowledge, appears equivocal and sparse. The purpose of this paper was to understand the primordial meaning of the concept in terms of Gehlen, and used this to arrive at a more comprehensive meaning of sports culture. This study was influenced by expositions on Gehlen’s culture, Elias’s civilizing process, Freud’s instinct, and Lorenz’s aggressiveness. According to Gehlen, culture is the second nature. In other words, culture is the result of nature being artificially deformed to suit the human condition. Nature exists inside as well as outside of the human being. Sports culture emerged as a part of the this intrinsic characteristic of the human being, especially aggressiveness, which is in constant process of artificial deformation to adapt to the human condition. The control of aggressiveness adjusting to the human condition has evolved through a three-step process that has developed from the human carnage in war to the slaughter of animals in hunting, from the direct slaughter of animals to the indirect through hounds, and from the actual slaughter to the symbolic. Sports culture is the culmination of the third step.

Abstract
Discussion of the crisis of sports newspaper industry in ‘multimedia multichannel era focuses on “What would replace the collapsed business model?” However, it looks difficult to make sustainable business models with the contents merchandizes like those in the past. It is because the consumers’ behavior to use contents changes into realtime consumption and production and sharing. A business model in a sports newspaper may be covered by multimedia when the related article or image is differentiated enough to captivate the audience and the advertiser into paying out money; more specifically, reliable contents are the only way to survive in a perennial deluge of spam contents. This study aimed to comprehend the internal environment and external reality of the sports newspaper industry by means of the strength-weakness-opportunity-threat (SWOT) analysis framework, as well as to suggest four measures to promote the sports newspaper industry with ‘strength ↔ opportunity (S↔O) attack strategy’, ‘strength ↔ threat (S↔T) response strategy’, ‘weakness ↔ opportunity (W↔O) counterattack strategy’ and ‘weakness ↔ threat (W↔T) defense strategy.’

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among expectation about setting density, perception of crowding, and feelings of enjoyment at a ski resort. The authors have collected data from 339 college students who visited Y ski resort in Kangwon province, Korea. Unlike the traditional crowding-satisfaction model, we hypothesized that the relationship between crowding and enjoyment will be mediated by coping and safety. Findings of the study supported the contention that setting density negatively influenced crowding. Also, crowding was mediated by three dimensions of behavioral coping (i.e., temporal/activity/resource substitution) and one dimension of cognitive coping (i.e., rationalization). In addition, perception of safety mediated the relationship among setting density, crowding, and feelings of enjoyment. However, we found no mediating effect of displacement, direct action, and product shift in the hypothesized relationship. As visitors at the ski resort perceived crowding, they tended to engage in coping and felt the place unsafe. After all, respondents who considered coping with the crowded situation and who felt the ski resort safe reported that they have enjoyed winter sports activity.

Abstract
This research attempted to examine diverse cultural phenomena appeared in the transcendental experience and in the actual field through phenomenological approach with regard to bicycle tourism as leisure culture. To do this, participatory observation and in-depth interviews were conducted on 6 members of a bicycle club who were active in Seoul City, and the results were analyzed by using the phenomenological research method as one of the qualitative research methods. The conclusion obtained through this is as follows. First, in the bicycle tourism, there existed leisure culture, which was differentiated from the existing competitive sports activities. Rest and health in the truesense of leisure were being promoted through the aesthetics of slowness and the experiences assimilated into nature which could not be experienced in the existing competitive sports activities. Second, in the bicycle tourism, there existed leisure culture differentiated as leisure activities for travel and health. In bicycles, two meanings?a meaning as means of transportation and a meaning of sports activities for health?coexisted. The bicycle tourism course was decided in consideration of season and exercise capacity, and the bicycle tourism club members were enjoying the leisure culture as the activities for travel and health.

Abstract
This study tested whether students’ expectancy-value of expressive activity classes mediated the relationship between self-efficacy and participation intention in a middle school physical education setting. Participants were 336 males and females students, and completed a set of questionnaires measuring self-efficacy, expectancy-value, and participation intention in expressive activity. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way MANOVA, and hierarchical regression. Results of one-way MANOVA showed that the levels of self-efficacy and expectancy beliefs were no difference between male and female students, but females perceived higher intrinsic interest, importance, and utility of expressive activity than males. Results of hierarchical regression indicated that self-efficacy was a positive predictor of expectancy-value components, whereas intrinsic interest and utility of expressive activity were positively associated with students’ participation intention. Especially, students’ perceptions of intrinsic interest and utility partially mediated the relationship between self-efficacy and intention for participating in expressive activity class. Findings suggest self-efficacy is an important determinant of participation intention in the expressive activity class among middle school students.

Abstract
whether exercise type is associate with the differences in bone mineral density and muscle strength of hip joint, we investigated bone mineral density and isokinetic muscular strength in 10 male elite-cyclists and 10 male elite-horse riders. Whole body and regional bone mineral contents and bone mineral density, and body composition were assessed using dual x-ray absorptiometry. And muscular strength, power and endurance of hip flexor and extensor, adductor and abductor, and trunk flexor and extensor were measured using an isokinetic dynamometer. This study comparing cyclists to horse riders found that 1. cyclists had a significantly lower fat mass and % fat and higher lean body mass, 2. there were no significant differences in bone mineral density cyclists and horse riders at any site measured, 3. there were no significant differences in muscular strength, 4. cyclists had a significantly higher muscular power and endurance in right and left hip flexor, extensor and abductor and trunk flexor. These results confirmed that weight supported exercise is associated with high muscular strength of hip joint but not bone mineral density.

Effects of Sports Talent Development Program on the Coordination between Upper and Lower Extremities during Standing Long Jump 제자리멀리뛰기 시 체육영재 훈련 프로그램이 상,하지 협응에 미치는 영향
This study investigated changes in the upper·lower extremities coordination between pre and post sports talent development training during standing long jump. Twenty-seven elementary schoolchildren (age: 10.6±1.1 yrs, height: 134.9±10.5 cm, body weight: 31.0±6.6 kg) participated in this study. Each participants took part in 2013 sports talent development program at the K university for 16 weeks. A three-dimensional motion analysis with 8 infrared cameras were performed to analyze the upper·lower extremities segments kinematics during standing long jump. Continuous relative phase (CRP) was used to evaluate coordination changes between two specific segments. Based on the results of this study, signifcantly improved coordination were found on the CRP between forearm versus all three lower extremities (thigh, shank, foot) in post-training (p<.05). Our findings indicate that sports talent development program influence upper·lower extremities coordination improvement. We suggest that sports talented children should take part in more long-term sports talent development program for improving whole body coordination.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide useful information to shorten the record by observing the high speed per 10m intervals, elapsed time by zone, and deceleration rate according to the level of record in order to compare changes of speed in 100m interval velocity. Average of 100 m interval velocity of Excellent Group (A) was 8.38 m/s and that of Non-excellent Group (B) was 7.51 m/s. In 40∼50 m zone, Group A showed 9.12 m/s, and Group B showed 8.13 m/s as their highest speed, which showed there should be improvement of speed to reach the highest speed of the world top players (11.3∼11.6 m/s). The zone where they reached their highest speed was 40∼50 m zone in both groups, while world top class players reached their highest speed at 55∼60 m zone. There should be change in their running competency to reach the highest speed at the later zone. Deceleration of the players participating in this study was high. To shorten the record, we need to improve the highest speed, improve racing to reach the highest speed at the later zone and perform speed and endurance enforcement training.

Abstract
Ground reaction force against the starting block of athletics was measured through experimental processes and the changes in records were recorded according to the posture change. The followings are the results of the study. First, the mean response time of the subjects for the left block was reduced from 0.15 s to 0.13 s. Second, the mean response time of the subjects for the right block was reduced by 0.04s from 0.12 s to 0.11 s. Third, the elapsed time to make three steps from starting point to 5 m was reduced by 0.05s from 1.24 s to 1.16 s. If we let the athletics and club members to recognize the ground reaction force and forward thrust force and correct their start by changing the distance and the angle to the starting block, it will help them to surpass old records.

Abstract
The purpose of study was to evaluate the gait performance and variability of obese old adults. Sixty five old adults were divided into three groups; normal(BMI< 23), over weight(23≤BMI≤25), obese(BMI >25) and conducted three different walking conditions(i.e., preferred paced walking, fast walking and obstacle walking). Spatial and temporal parameters were measured using GAITRite system and correlations between BMI and each parameter were examined. The results of One-way ANOVA among three groups showed that step length, stride length, and step width of obese elderly having over BMI 25 is faster than others. However, there were no significant difference in temporal parameters and gait variability. The results showed that obese elderly have difference not in gait variability but in gait performance. The less spatial movement strategy of obese elderly would lead to avoiding unexpected situation such as falling. It implies that even though obesity in older adults does not cause fundamental changes of gait patterns based on neuromuscular changes, it lead a conservative strategy with reduced range of motion.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to confirm how the test taker’s linguistic comprehension affect the item characteristics(item difficulty & discrimination) when the paper and pencil test (PPT) is converted into a multimedia test(MMT). The participants of this study are 141 black-belt undergraduate trainees in Taekwondo. To artificially control the language ability of the subjects, both the mother language(Korean) and the foreign language(English) are performed in the test. The test used in this study is ‘Multilingual Taekwondo Knowledge Test(MTKT)’ developed by Choi et al. (2012). MTKT is an equivalent test in 4 types of versions(KOR_PPT, ENG_PPT, KOR_MMT, ENG_MMT), consisting of 17 items. The conclusions are as follows. When the test taker’s linguistic comprehension is manipulated differently, the item difficulty of the PPT becomes higher with lower item discrimination. However, MMT shows no changes. Therefore, the MMT delivery mode can be a valid test for subjects with low linguistic abilities, such as the elders, the disabled, or children.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the improvement plans for physical education activities in school, which is one of various creative experience activities for students in school, to be reflected on the admissions officer system in college entrance. The study target was 23 professionals who are experienced in college entrance screening. To verify the college entrance reflection plan of school physical education activities through admissions officer system, which can greatly contribute to the activation of students’ physical education activities, and its suitability in reality, AHP analysis method was used. The results of the study are as follows. First, according to the diversifying national/social demands, physical education abilities focused on core abilities such as leadership, challenges, self-management abilities, are receiving attention as the requirements of future talents; therefore, the college entrance system needs an improvement so that diversified physical education activities, away from unilinear physical abilities like exercise function or strength, can be reflected on the college entrance application. Second, the college entrance system needs an improvement so that Korean universities should acknowledge the importance of physical education in middle/high school curricula, just like the universities in advanced foreign countries, and that physical education class activities can be reflected. Third, at the point where the evaluation on the extracurricular activities on the student record is becoming more important as the factor of admission process in current university admission officer system, the college entrance system needs an improvement so that the foundation, which corresponds to adolescence physical strength and comprehensive educational purpose, can be built.

Abstract
In this study, in order to investigate motor fitness in young children of different levels of body fatness, we constructed a regression evaluation chart from a polynomial regression analysis of body weight versus height and determined body fatness level with the aim of examining motor fitness with each of the determined body fatness levels. Based on the results of an evaluation regression chart of body weight versus height, the application of third order polynomials was determined to be valid in young boys and girls from the coefficient of determination in the regression polynomial, the residual sum of squares, and the AIC. In judging body type, somewhat thin and thin children in the regression evaluation were taken to be “thin type,” standard to be “ordinary type,” and somewhat obese and obese to be “obese type.” The results derived from these procedures showed no apparent differences in motor fitness by level of body fatness in either boys or girls. The results of motor fitness by level of body fatness in 5-year-old children in this study suggest that the factors of innate maturity and natural development are stronger. Early childhood is a period that shows natural growth and development from innate and genetic control, and there is thought to be independence in physical growth and development in early childhood.
